Coffee Cherry in Melbourne

Our Growers Espresso store in North Fitzroy is awash with coffee cherries. Mark Ryan (Owner/Roaster) had a quick visit last week to the Bryon Bay hinterland to meet growers and check on this year's harvest. He also attended the Annual General Meeting of the Australian Subtropical Coffee Association and brought back a selection of coffee cherry and foliage to showcase to customers.

Viewing the coffee tree, and branches loaded with cherry, provides customers with a new perspective of coffee.

The news from up north is that this year will see a much earlier harvest, hence why there is plenty of red cherry on plantations already.

Red cherry will also be on display at this week's Slow Food Farmers' Market at Abbotsford Convent (Saturday, 28th August).
